All About Riot!

In October 2000 a small party was thrown in the basement of a bar in the East End of London, little did people realise that this was only the start of a clubbing phenomenon and vibe that would spread like wildfire. With the Riot! Label now also initially set up by BK & Ed Real, the stage was set for Riot! To grow, progress and ultimately smash the scene from all sides.

The Sunday event’s at legendary hotspot ‘The End’, right in the heart of London went on to become Mixmag’s Club of the Year for two years running and the label also enjoyed major success based on the quality and consistency of brilliant releases.

Fast forward to 2007 and while the events had been put on hold for a short while, the introduction of ‘Scott Attrill’ to the team would inject a whole new lease of life, for now Riot! Recordings were joined also by Scott’s mighty ‘Traffic Records’ catalogue and between them, the team had what many would consider to be the biggest and best music catalogue in the business…

After six months, Ed parted company, so now Ben & Scott took sole care of everything from the making / production of tunes, to the A&R on all labels, to handling all the marketing & press as well as complete creative control, lifting Riot! To new heights, & this is where the story becomes even more remarkable…

The Boys, just for starters, worked with all new album concepts including artist albums from both & the mighty ‘Filthy House For Dirty Stopouts’ series, then came the all new Riot! In Ibiza collection which has been established as ‘The’ album to have in the summer months of each year, all at the same time the single releases came thick & fast, with tune and album of the month accolades sitting alongside almost every release that was provided.

Then, with the sad news that ‘The End’ nightclub, Riot!’s home for so long was about to close? There was unfinished business, Riot! Returned for the last party, it was a sell-out and the Riot! ‘Clubbing’ Bug had started again with huge demand for the night to return on a more regular basis. A new club was needed, so where better than the world famous O2 arena and ‘Fabric’s’ sister club ‘Matter’, the party’s took Riot! Further into the stratosphere with packed out event after event throughout 2009 & 2010, hosting the biggest superstar DJ’s in the world on the biggest stage.

So that takes us on and into 2012, after the closure of ‘Matter’ Riot! Returned again to its spiritual home at ‘The Den & Centro’ (formally known as ‘The End’), and in January this year again sold out the venue, then with ‘Matter’ to reopen as ‘Proud2’, Riot! Also returned in September of 2011. The future for Riot! Looks as bright as it always has with Scott & Ben at the helm, introducing groundbreaking new projects such as the album ‘This Is Hard Electrik’ as well as new ‘Live’ mix albums & the ‘Live For The Weekend’ series, there is also something special to coincide with the labels landmark 100th release this year. Riot! - striving to bring the best in events, music, artist development, in short, to bring you the best in everything they do.

RIOT! FILTHY HOUSE FOR DIRTY STOPOUTS…. YOU LOVE IT…
